South Beach Fire Authority says that they responded to a report of a structure fire in the area of Forrest St. and Newell Ave. When they arrived, the home was fully involved in flames.

At 05:47 on August 26th 2024 South Beach Regional Fire Authority was dispatched to Forrest St. and Newell Ave. for a structure fire. Upon arrival, responders found a fully involved house fire. The residence on the property was reported as abandoned and no one living inside.

SBRFA was able to keep the heavy flames from spreading to nearby vegetation or structures. The fire was declared contained quickly. However, crews remained on scene for several hours putting out hot spots.

A portion of Forrest St. was closed for incident operations and firefighter safety. We would like to thank the community for there patience and WPD for there professional assistance.

Approximately 16 SBRFA firefighters responded to this incident.
