Following too Close, Vehicle Strikes Another On SR12/ SR8 Saturday

According to the Washington State Patrol, following too closely was the cause of a colision that tied up traffic eastbount on State Route 12 going into State Route 8 near the interchange.

A 79-year-old Hoquiam woman driving a 2007 White Ford Explorer had been traveling eastbound on 12, towards state route 8, when an emergency vehicle (police officer) had been traveling, getting onto the highway near the same location with lights and sirens activated (going to a protection order violation). The vehicle that the Hoquiam woman was behind slowed to yield to the emergency vehicle, a 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan, driven by a 32-year old from Washington, DC.
