PACIFIC COUNTY, Wash. — A 15-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle while traveling in the roadway on State Route 401 near Torppa Road, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The collision occurred at approximately 6:26 p.m. on December 13, 2025, on northbound SR 401 at Torppa Road, just outside the town of Naselle.
Investigators say a 1996 Toyota RAV4 was traveling northbound when it struck a male juvenile pedestrian who was riding a skateboard northbound in the lane of travel. Both the vehicle and the pedestrian came to rest in the northbound lane following the collision.

The pedestrian sustained injuries and was airlifted to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center for treatment. His name has not been released due to his age.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as a 46-year-old woman from Roseburg, Oregon, was not injured. Authorities confirmed she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and that no drugs or alcohol were involved. No charges have been filed.
Washington State Patrol listed the cause of the collision as “Pedestrian in Roadway.” The vehicle sustained reportable damage but was able to be driven from the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
