Search Warrant Executed in Central Park Friday

On 09-21-18 the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 6400 block of Olympic Hwy in Central Park.  Deputies and detectives were searching for evidence of a felon in possession of a firearm and the illegal manufacture of firearm suppressors.  The Grays Harbor Drug Task Force and the FBI assisted in serving the search warrant.  The investigation started after receiving numerous citizen complaints of firearms being discharged in the area.  Deputies recovered several firearms and an illegally manufactured suppressor.  They also discovered a suspected explosive device. The Washington State Patrol / FBI Joint Bomb Squad was called in to handle the safe removal of the explosive device.  A 64 year old Aberdeen man was taken into custody for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.  Charges will be filed for Manufacturing a Firearm Suppressor and Possession of an Explosive Device.  Law enforcement is still gathering evidence and processing the scene to ensure it is safe.  The investigation will continue into the possible sales of illegal suppressors.
