The Washington State Patrol says that a silver 2006 Toyota Sienna had been traveling westbound on state route 8 driven by a 50-year-old Steilacoom woman on Thursday, June 27th, 2024 at 6:20 PM.

The Toyota Sienna had been going at a high rate of speed in lane 1 (slow lane) when the driver lost control and went off the roadway striking multiple trees then coming to a rest in a ditch.

Radio traffic from GHScanner Re-player said that the vehicle had significant front end damage and the driver was trapped at the time. There had been no response from the driver to citizens who had stopped to help.

Speed was listed as the primary cause of the collision. The driver was airlifted to Harboview Medical Center, Seattle for her injuries.
