Several road closures are expected this Saturday, January 15th, 2022. As part of Engineer/Paramedic Chad Mittleider’s line-of-duty-death service, there will be a procession traveling from South Side Fire Station 700 US 101, Aberdeen, to the Aberdeen High School, 410 North G Street, Aberdeen.
In Aberdeen, G Street will be closed to all through traffic from 2nd Street to 4th Street starting at 9:00 a.m. and ending about 1:30 p.m.
The procession is scheduled to leave South Side Fire Station at 11:30 a.m. traveling west on US 101 (W Curtis St), north-west on US 101 (N Boone St) over the Chehalis River bridge, south-west on W State St, north-west on S Park St, north-east on W Market St, and north on S G St. The lead engine carrying Engineer/Firefighter Chad Mittleider is expected to arrive to the Aberdeen High School at noon. Apparatus from across the region have confirmed attendance and depending on the number of apparatus attending, the procession could last until 12:30 p.m.
If you see the procession, we ask that you follow normal emergency vehicle procedures, slow down, and “pull to the right for sirens and lights.”
Engineer/Paramedic Chad Mittleider’s Memorial Service will begin inside the Aberdeen High School Auditorium at 1:00 p.m. The service will be open to the public. Engineer/Paramedic Chad Mittleider passed away on December 2, 2021, following his 24-hour shift.
