Starting with only the phone number, the deputies were able to identify the 44-year-old Pierce County man who came to the area specifically to meet the teen. The deputies were also able to obtain a vehicle description for the man, and while searching the area, they located the man attempting to leave in the vehicle at a high rate of speed.

The subject identified as William Collin Snavely was stopped, detained, and questioned. The child was not located in the vehicle but was later found walking on a roadway near their residence by deputies who continued to search the area.

Detectives were called out to assist with the investigation. Through the investigation, it was learned that Snavely had come to Grays Harbor County on at least two occasions to meet with at least two children for the purposes of engaging in illegal sexual acts.

Snavely was booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail on 3 counts of Kidnapping in the 1st Degree, 3 counts of Rape in the 3rd Degree, Possession of Depictions of a Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct, Dealing in Depictions of a Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct, and 2 counts of Communicating with a Minor for Immoral Purposes.

Due to the quick response by patrol deputies and the comprehensive investigation by the detective's division, this subject was quickly apprehended and was not able to flee the county to continue preying on the youth of our communities. This case is ongoing and additional information is still being obtained.
