The Ocean Shores fire department says that they responded to a commercial structure fire yesterday evening Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 6:36 p.m at the Bay Vue Hotel located at 685 Ocean Shores Blvd. NW.

They say that the fire was initially reported in a room on the second floor. Crews made entry to find smoke conditions on floors two and three and floor one laundry room. All occupants were evacuated and relocated to another hotel.

The fire was located inside a wall from the first-floor laundry room extending up three floors inside the wall. Crews had to cut through walls from both the interior and exterior to control the fire spread. The fire was stubborn with the second-floor structural components compromised by flame impingement. Crews remained on scene for over 4 hours extinguishing hot spots.

OSFD responded with 2 Engines and a Medic Unit with a total of 10 Firefighters from OSFD and 2 Firefighters from Fire District 7. The Ocean Shores ladder truck is currently out of service for emergency repairs making this fire a bit more challenging.
