The Montesano Police Department issued a public clarification Tuesday after an Amber Alert briefly suggested that two abducted juveniles may have last been seen in the Montesano area.
According to the department, the Washington State Patrol activated the Amber Alert on November 18, 2025, on behalf of the Odessa Police Department in eastern Washington. The alert involved two juveniles who were believed to have been taken by a non-custodial parent. Early information distributed in the alert indicated that the individuals were last seen in Montesano.
Shortly after the alert was issued, Montesano Police reviewed details from previous investigations and provided updated information to Odessa Police. That information confirmed that none of the individuals named in the alert had been in the Montesano area and were instead last known to be in the Seattle/King County region. Additionally, none of the subjects involved were residents of Montesano or Grays Harbor County.

Montesano Police promptly relayed the corrected information to both Odessa Police and the Washington State Patrol to support the ongoing search.
The department emphasized its commitment to assisting partner agencies with incidents that impact or potentially impact the local community.
Officials also reported a positive outcome—the juveniles and their mother were located safely within hours of the alert being issued. Montesano Police noted that all involved individuals were found outside of Montesano and not anywhere within Grays Harbor County.
