Man Injured in Accidental Shooting Near Sand Hill Road in Belfair
On Saturday afternoon, November 29, 2025, at approximately 3:30 PM, Mason County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of NE Sand Hill Road in Belfair, near the former Mission Creek Corrections Center, following a report of a possible assault.
Upon arrival, deputies located a van pulled to the side of the roadway with several individuals signaling for help. Inside the vehicle, deputies found an adult male suffering from a single gunshot wound to the upper left shoulder and chest area. According to the group, they had been out harvesting brush in the nearby area when they heard a gunshot and discovered the victim injured.

Deputies immediately provided lifesaving aid, including applying chest seals to both the front and back of the wound to stabilize the victim until North Mason Regional Fire Authority medics arrived and assumed care. The victim was later transported for further medical treatment.
