Homicide Confirmed in Death of Tacoma Woman Found on Beach Near Ocean Shores

The Grays Harbor County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that the death of a woman whose body was discovered on a beach north of Ocean Shores in October has been ruled a homicide.

According to the Coroner’s Office, deputies were called to the scene on the morning of October 22, 2025, after a body was found along the shoreline. The victim was later identified as 51-year-old Annie Fears of Tacoma.

An autopsy was conducted, along with a specialized examination by the Washington State Anthropology Department at the King County Medical Examiner’s Office. Following an extensive investigation, authorities determined that Ms. Fears died as the result of homicidal violence.

The investigation was carried out by the Grays Harbor County Coroner’s Office with assistance from the Thurston County Coroner’s Office, King County Medical Examiner’s Office, Washington State Anthropology Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Department.

Officials did not release additional details regarding the circumstances of the homicide or whether any suspects have been identified. The investigation remains ongoing.

The Grays Harbor County Coroner’s Office expressed condolences to the family and loved ones of Ms. Fears and thanked all assisting agencies for their cooperation and support during the investigation.
