A two-vehicle collision Wednesday morning at the intersection of State Route 8 and Heise Road resulted in four people being injured, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The crash occurred April 1, 2026, at approximately 9:31 a.m. in Grays Harbor County. Troopers say the collision happened when one vehicle traveling southbound on Heise Road attempted to make a left turn onto eastbound SR 8 and struck a westbound vehicle already traveling on the highway.
Investigators determined the cause of the crash to be failure to yield the right of way. Drugs or alcohol were not believed to be a factor.

According to the report, the first vehicle came to rest in the eastbound median, while the second vehicle came to rest in the eastbound lanes facing westbound.
Four individuals were injured in the crash. One driver, a 21-year-old woman from Rainier, was injured and is expected to self-transport for medical treatment. She was wearing a seatbelt and is facing a charge of negligent driving in the second degree.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 31-year-old Olympia woman, also reported injuries and self-transported to Summit Pacific Medical Center. Two passengers in the same vehicle, a 68-year-old Olympia woman and a 44-year-old Tumwater woman, were also injured. One passenger was transported by aid to Summit Pacific Medical Center, while the other self-transported. All occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
Both vehicles sustained reportable damage and were removed from the scene by tow companies.
Motorists are reminded to use caution when turning across highway traffic and always yield to oncoming vehicles.
