Two Hoquiam teens are in the Grays Harbor County Juvenile Detention Facility this morning facing Robbery charges.
At 7:48 PM Sunday evening Aberdeen Police Officers were dispatched to a reported robbery at the Grocery Outlet. The reported victim, a 39-year old Westport woman, and her 16-year old son and 13-year old daughter had gone over to the Hoquiam Police Department to report the incident. Officers were advised initially that during a reported vehicle purchase, the 16 and 17-year old Hoquiam male suspects grabbed the woman’s purse (containing cash) and fled.

The suspects reportedly ran from the area of the West End Park toward the Grocery Outlet, where they got in a gray Acura vehicle and a partial plate was obtained.
A short time after the call came out, while officers were speaking with the victims, a Hoquiam police officer located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle.
The vehicle was contacted in the 500 block of Eklund Ave with young males matching the suspect inside.
The victim was brought to the location and positively identified the suspects who fled with her purse and cash. They were taken into custody and transported to the Aberdeen and Hoquiam police stations.

During interviews, it was determined the purchase involved vaping products, not a vehicle as initially reported.
Evidence was located to corroborate the statements, but the victim’s purse and cash have not been located.
Another 17-year old Hoquiam male and 21-year old Seattle man also suspected of possible involvement were interviewed and released, pending prosecutor review of the investigation. The investigation continues.
