Semi Collision Results in 2 Homes and a Camper Being Struck In Malone Friday Afternoon

According to a Washington State Patrol report, the accident which occurred on Friday afternoon June 12th afternoon at 12:11 occurred on State Route 12 at Vance Ave which is 7 miles east from Elma on 12.


A International Semi With 2 Tanker Trailers driven by a 32-year-old Onalaska man was traveling eastbound on SR 12 at MP 25 when it veered left into oncoming westbound traffic and struck a 2001 Kenworth Semi With One Trailer driven by a 63-year-old South Prarie man. The International Semi jackknifed blocking eastbound and westbound lanes of 12. The Kenworth then continued through a fence, two houses and a residential camper trailer.


The 32-year-old male driving the International was transported to St Peters Hospital in Olympia for his injuries with the 63-year-old Kenworth driver going to Summit Pacific for his injuries.
Drugs or alcohol were not involved in this collision and both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.


Charges against the 32-year-old Onalaska man are negligent driving 2nd degree for the cause of the accident being innatention.


The report did not indicate what the innatention was, this could be as we all know grabbing sunglasses off the dash, changing the stereo channel to yes, using a cell phone. The type of distraction was not indicated in any manner at this time
