Watch for flooding on the Satsop River

weather-floodwatch.png

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a FLOOD WATCH for the Satsop River until noon on Wednesday. All area rivers are rising, but not expected to reach flood stage. The Satsop River will rise very quickly in the early morning hours and crest at 32.75 feet at Porter, (just below flood stage of 34 feet), @ 10:00 am this. The river will quickly recede after.

All areas of the county will be susceptible to pooling of water, on the already saturated ground, from the heavy rain we will receive this morning. Small creeks may overflow their banks and roadways may have significant ponding as a result of heavy rainfall. The rain should taper off to showers for the rest of the day and evening.

Thunderstorms are a possibility along the coast today which could bring gusty winds and heavy downpours as the system moves East.

Use caution while driving due to ponding of water on roadways and during periods of heavy rain.

Flooding possible on the Satsop River in Grays Harbor County.
