Montesano Moose Lodge Closes - Disagreement With Moose International Over Allowing Minors Into Bar Area.

The Montesano Moose Lodge has been a long-time membership organization in Montesano for as long as one can remember. But yesterday, June 17th the board of the lodge announced that it is closing its doors due to a policy disagreement with Moose International that says that they have to allow minors in the bar area with a buffer zone set.

Here is what the board of the local Moose chapter posted on Monday June 17th on a social media group.

"The Board for the Montesano Moose Lodge #1210 chose to stand behind the laws of WA, advice from members of the liquor control board, local PD, and our moral obligation to our community.

Moose International, led by Duane Lusby at the behest of Mo Khan, has disbanded our board as of tonight. The bar has been closed until further notice. Your elected Moose Board rejected a demand from Moose International to violate the law to allow minors of all ages into the Bar area indefinitely.

It has been a pleasure serving our Lodge, volunteering for the last year, and meeting everyone. Hope to see you at our other fine Montesano establishments that do not let kids hang out in the bar."
