Attempted Kidnapper Gusman In Custody

At 0808 hours on May 22, 2018 Grays Harbor Deputies arrested a 41 year old transient suspected in the attempted kidnapping of a 21 year old female in Montesano on May 16, 2018. The suspect, who had been observed driving a blue Chevy Avalanche, was located ten miles off the Kelly Road in the Canyon River area, which is several miles north of the town of Brady. He was located in a camp he had been living in for the past several weeks on US Forest Service land on the Grays Harbor and Mason County lines. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail for Attempted Kidnapping 2nd Degree and Assault 2nd Degree. The blue Avalanche was located at the campsite and was impounded. Detectives are currently working on a search warrant to process the vehicle for evidence. Officers from Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Washington State Patrol, Montesano Police Department, Grays Harbor Drug Task Force, Department of Fish and Wildlife, Green Diamond Security and Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office have been working together for the past three days on this investigation. The Grays Harbor County Sheriffs Department said officially Tuesday Afternoon May 22nd that they did take attempted kidnapping suspect Isaac Gusman into custody on a forest service road bordering Mason and Grays Harbor County lines safely and without incident.
