According to a Washington State Patrol report Wednesday just before noon, an accident early this morning at 6:08 am was the result of the motorcycle being struck by a turning vehicle that failed to give the right of way.

The accident occurred at 6:08 AM Wednesday morning May 1st, 2019 on State Route 12 at Denmark St.  A motorcyclist driving a 1997 Kawasawki VN 1500 (a 59-year-old Rochester man) had been traveling eastbound when an 80-year-old Olympia woman driving a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero that had been traveling west on 12 turned onto Denmark St colliding with the motorcyclists. 

The Rochester Man was deceased at the scene of the accident.  The roadway was blocked for several hours for the investigation.  

Failure to yeild the right of way is the listed charges pending at this time against the 80 year old woman.
