Passenger Killed, DUI Driver in Custody

An Update Early Saturday morning to a traffic collision on State Route 109 in Compalis Beach gave way to sad news as the Washington State Patrol confirmed that the passenger a 26-year-old Centralia woman was killed in that collision. 
The incident happened around 12:44 AM on Saturday, June 27th on State Route 109 near milepost 24 in Copalis Beach north of Ocean Shores when a 2004 Nissan Sentra driven by a 27-year-old Hoquiam man was traveling northbound and went off the roadway to the right striking multiple trees coming to rest on the northbound side of the road. 
The passenger was deceased at the scene and family have been notified of the incident. 
The driver was transported to Community Hospital for injuries and was then booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail for vehicular homicide.  The report indicates that alcohol or drugs did play a factor in this collision.
