According to the Washington State Patrol, a 28-year-old Humptulips man driving a 2006 Dodge Ram crossed the center line colliding head-on with a 2019 Peterbilt truck with a log trailer Monday late afternoon. 

The collision occurred on Monday, July 27th at 4:32 pm on US 101 milepost 92 just before Ocean Beach Road when the 28-year-old Humptulips man traveling southbound on 101 crossed the center line and hit the Peterbilt truck driven by a 64-year old Humptulips man that was in the northbound direction. A 3rd vehicle a 2019 white for F150 driven by a 42-year-old Hoquiam man also traveling northbound on 101 swerved to avoid the collision and ended in the northbound side ditch. 

The driver of the Dodge Ram, the 28-year-old Humptuluips man was transported for his injuries to Community Hospital, the other 2 drivers were not injured. 

The roadway was blocked for approximately 5 hours, no charges have been filed at the time of the report to the causing driver.

According to the Washinton State Patrol, a serious one-vehicle collision on State Route 8 on Monday was the result of a medical incident the driver, the only occupant had.

The collision happened on Monday, July 27th on eastbound State Route 8 milepost 3 between Elma and McCleary. The 53-year-old Lacey man suffered a medical event causing the vehicle to go off the roadway to the right colliding with a tree.  

The driver was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for his injuries. 

A Spokane man was injured after being ejected from the motorcycle he was on when he crashed while fleeing from 2 Washington State Patrol vehicles Sunday evening at 7:18 pm

The 34-year-old Spoakane man was on a 2007 Kawasaki ZX600 fleeing officers who having their lights and sirens activated were pursuing the sports bike for reasons not mentioned in the accident report on State Route 12 westbound.  The rider tried to exit State Route 12 at Devonshire road and lost control striking the guardrail and was ejected into the brush.  

According to radio traffic, it had first appeared that the rider had been fleeing, but the officers found the injured rider in the brush, and EMS staff from the Montesano Fire Department immedetly began treatment and transport to Community Hospital. 

The 34-year-old is facing charges for felony eluding, reckless driving, DUI.

Effective 12:01 A.M. Sunday, July 26th, 2020;  With the recent trend of warm and dry weather the Grays Harbor County Fire Marshal’s office and Fire Districts, will be enacting restrictions on outdoor burning in Grays Harbor County.  This restriction includes residential yard waste and land clearing burning on a temporary basis until conditions moderate. All residential yard waste and land clearing burning is prohibited until further notice.

Recreational campfires are allowed if built in improved fire pits in designated campgrounds, such as those typically found in local, county, state parks, or commercial campgrounds.
