According to a Washington State Patrol report, the accident which occurred on Friday afternoon June 12th afternoon at 12:11 occured on State Route 12 at Vance Ave which is 7 miles east from Elma on 12. 

A 2001 Kenworth Semi With One Trailer driven by a 32-year-old Onalaska man was traveling eastbound on SR 12 at MP 25 when it veered left into oncoming westbound traffic and struck a International Semi With 2 Tanker Trailers driven by a 63 year old South Prarie man.  The Kenworth Semi jackknifed blocking eastbound and westbound lanes of 12. The International then continued through a fence, two houses and a residential camper trailer.

The 32-year-old male driving the Kenworth was transported to St Peters Hospital in Olympia for his injuries with the 63-year-old International driver going to Summit Pacific for his injuries. 

Charges against the 32-year-old Onalaska man are negligent driving 2nd degree for the cause of the accident being innatention. 

COOS BAY, Ore. -- The Coast Guard rescued a mother and son Thursday after they had fallen from the cliffs while hiking at Cape Arago near Coos Bay.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector North Bend received an agency assist request from Coos County Dispatch, at 12:04 p.m. for two people who had fallen from the cliff. The mother reported no medical concerns, but her 18-year-old son sustained multiple head wounds and required hospitalization.

Sector North Bend watchstanders diverted an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew already in transit from Air Facility Newport and directed the launch of another aircrew from Sector North Bend. 

Two homes and several vehicles were lost to a fire in Aberdeen on Friday Battalion Chief Troy Palmer said it was reported by a firefighter at 1:45 PM on June 5th. The Aberdeen Fire Department firefighter was driving the department ladder truck to a fueling depot on the Port Industrial Rd. when he noticed some black smoke in the area of the 1500 block of W. Market St. in Aberdeen. Upon investigation he discovered a large debris and trailer fire between two residences rapidly spreading to the homes and vehicles.

A 23 year old male resident was taken into custody for several counts of delivery of heroin. He also had a significant amount of methamphetamine in his possession as well as over $2000.00 cash when he was arrested.

A second adult male with numerous outstanding warrants was also taken into custody at the scene as he was found hiding in a closet.

Upon searching this subject, suspected methamphetamine and related paraphernalia was found in his pocket.

Both men were booked into jail.
