A Shoalwater Officer was first on scene, with Deputy MacIntosh arriving on scene soon after. Both began engaging the individual in conversation with Detective Kevin Acdal arriving shortly after and taking over primary contact with the individual. As other law enforcement arrived, Sergeant Kyle Pettit began providing command and control, while Detective Cory Nacnac maintained overwatch security. For nearly an hour, Deputies MacIntosh and Acdal spoke with the subject, employing de-escalation techniques to calm the situation. The subject ultimately discharged his weapon into the air before releasing the firearm. Deputies MacIntosh and Acdal immediately rushed to the individual, securing the weapon and ensuring his safety. They then escorted him back to their patrol vehicles, where he received mental health care.

The Pacific County Sheriff's Office extends its sincere gratitude to all agencies who assisted in this incident, including the Grays Harbor Sheriff's Office, Westport Police Department, Shoalwater Bay Tribal Police, and the Pacific County dispatchers who played a crucial role in coordinating the response.
