One taken To Community Hostpital For Smoke Inhalation After Friday Night Fire.

An Aberdeen woman was treated for possible smoke inhalation after a house fire Friday night. Battalion Chief Dave Golding said in a press release that at 10:14 PM February 22, 2019, The Aberdeen Fire Department, with assistance from the Hoquiam and Cosmopolis Fire Departments responded to a reported structure fire at 908 Duffy Street in Aberdeen.

Upon arrival, unit found a residential structure with large amounts of smoke coming form the front door and eves.

One occupant, a 48-year-old female was found sitting in the front doorway of the house. She was quickly removed and transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital for possible smoke inhalation. There were no other injuries to occupants or fire service personnel.

Golding said it took approximately 35 minutes to bring the fire under control. A total of 15 firefighters responded in 1 command unit, 4 Engines, 1 Medic Unit in addition to 2 Chief Officers.

Damage is estimated at $30,000 to the structure and its contents. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
