4:20 AM, audible alarm at an Elma business, location not given over the air. An officer arrived on scene and advised that there was a broken window - vehicle leaving took off on officer at high rate of speed. The officer advised that he was in pursuit Main and 4th, going through multiple in town streets. The vehicle then got onto SR 12 east towards McCleary. The driver wearing a Gray hoodie and white face mask on. The officer advised that the vehicle was driving at 115 MPH, blacked out (No lights on). McCleary officer set up at Mox Chehalis Rd with spike strips.
McCleary officer was able to successfully spike the vehicle where it continued on to after losing the right front tire, driving on its rims. The vehicle crashed out 2 miles over the county line (just passed ORV Park) SR 8 Mp 12. K9 officer was requested for a tracking the suspect as he fled on foot into the woods.
A county deputy responded to the store with the broken window and verified that no entry was made to the store, just the broken window.
Plates on the vehicle came back clear, not stolen. However, officers responded to the location to check with the owner, or residence and found out that the vehicle was stolen, just this morning (owner didn't know it was stolen yet) a 2021 Kia Forte. The ignition was ripped out of it, also indicating stolen vehicle.
K9 officer arrived on scene, officers tracked the suspect - at 5:47 AM a WSP trooper spotted the suspect popping out of the woods, and was able to take the suspect into custody.
