HOQUIAM, WA – September 13, 2025 – Hoquiam Police officers and Hoquiam Fire Department personnel responded Saturday evening to a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision in the 3000 block of Sumner Avenue, near 30th Street. The incident occurred at approximately 9:28 p.m.
Initial dispatch reports indicated that a pedestrian had been struck and was down in the roadway, with CPR in progress. Upon arrival, officers confirmed the roadway was blocked while emergency crews worked the scene.
Hoquiam Fire Department EMS reported that the patient was down but moving in the roadway. The individual was transported to Community Hospital for further treatment.
According to radio traffic, the vehicle involved in the collision remained at the scene. Officers established a detour around the area to allow for a collision investigation, with the roadway reopening at approximately 1:20 a.m. Sunday.
The collision remains under investigation.
