A vehicle pursuit involving a Grays Harbor County deputy was reported early Monday morning, January 5, 2026.
According to radio traffic, the pursuit began at approximately 12:50 a.m. after a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle in Aberdeen on E King Street at N Cluster. The driver reportedly failed to stop, leading to a brief pursuit.

The original reason for the traffic stop was for lights out on the vehicle and expired vehicle tabs.
The vehicle fled from the officer at speeds at 60 MPH in the city, then accelerated to 90 MPH on US 101 towards Raymond. The driver of the fleeing vehicle went off the roadway, milepost 78, but then got back onto the road headed back towards Cosmopolis. At some point they got turned around again, and onto Artic Road. County Deputy had advised that the vehicle appeared to be occupied by 2. The vehicle fleeing later crashed at milepost 3 on North River Rd Mp 3 with the driver bailing and fleeing on foot leaving the passenger in the vehicle.
Through radio traffic, it was learned that the passenger had warrants, convicted felon with the driver that fled also had several felony warrants.
It doesn't sound like any K9 officers were available; the drone was ineffective due to weather.
