We have an update on an incident first brought to you by the team at Grays Harbor Scanner this Friday morning, September 30th where an Aberdeen Police Officer sustained injuries while attempting to take a suspect into custody.  The suspect continued after several officers arrived to assist resisting arrest. 

A 28-year-old Ocean Shores woman was airlifted to Haborview Seattle after failing to yield at a highway intersection in east Grays Harbor County Sunday afternoon.  

The Collision occurred on State Route 8 milepost 6 at the SR 8/SR108 intersection at 3:36 PM.  WSP says that a Silver 2003 Toyota Corolla driven by the Ocean Shores woman was stopped at the stop sign on the north side of SR 108 and turned to go westbound on SR 8.  The Corolla collided with another vehicle that had been westbound on SR 8 a 2006 Toyota Camry driven by a 49-year-old Long Beach woman.  

Radio traffic indicated that the Ocean Shores woman had sustained head injuries and was going in and out of consciousness at the scene.  

In the Corolla, a 14 year old passenger was not injured, nor was the driver of the Camry.  

Not a lot of details have been released in regard to the shooting last night in the back parking lot of Aces of Clubs Tavern in Hoquiam in the 2600 block of Simpson Avenue. 

Hoquiam Police Chief Strong has confirmed that officers found a 58-year-old male in the back parking lot who was suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the subject was pronounced dead at the scene.

The subject that fired the shots remained on-scene and was detained by officers. There was no threat to the public after the shooting incident.

Hoquiam Police detectives, with the assistance of detectives from the Aberdeen Police Department and Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office processed the scene with the use of the FARO crime scene scanning device, collecting evidence, and interviewing witnesses.

This is an ongoing investigation, says Chief Strong.
