Hoquiam firefighters and Police officers were busy yesterday with 2 separate structure fires over the first day of the Labor Day Weekend.  The first fire of the day we have heard that one person was transported for injuries sustained by the fire, the second home was vacant in a state of remodeling.

The Aberdeen Police Department has released information on the shooting and robbery incident that took place Sunday evening on West Second Street where initial dispatch reports said that someone had been shot.  APD now says that was not the case, the person had been sprayed with mace and that is not all to the story.

The USCG says that they were contacted by a fishing vessel the Bell M. Shimad that was 40 miles off the coast of Grays Harbor Sunday evening August 26th, 2018 after the woman was suffering a medical emergency.  GHS has the video below the article that the Coast Guard has shared of the evac.

The Washington State Patrol received reports of a possible abduction taking place at Heritage Park in Olympia at the State Capital at 10:30 p.m. on August 22, 2018.  This is close to home for our Grays Harbor Scanner fans, so we are putting this out.

Yesterday afternoon amongst all the chaos of the structure fire in Hoquiam another tough call came out for EMS responders, one that they never want to hear come over the radio - The possible drowning of a 2 1/2-year-old child.

We have more on this from Chief Criminal Deputy Johanson.
