On the evening of July 26th, 2023, the Pacific County Drug Task Force made an arrest connected to an investigation into controlled substances being transported to, and sold in, Pacific County. They say that the investigation spanned several months.

The collision occurred on US 101 near Butte Creek Rd at 4:49 PM when the 65-year-old who was traveling northbound on US 101 on a 2006 Yamaha XVS1100 when he struck some debris lost traction and went off the roadway, coming to rest in a ditch on the northbound shoulder.

According to the Washington State Patrol, US 101 from State Route 8 near Mud Bay was blocked for close to 3 hours after a 4 vehicle collision resulted in a fatality invlving a motorcycle.
