On Wednesday, January 5, 2022 the Grays Harbor Drug Task Force (GHDTF) in partnership with the Aberdeen Police Department, the Hoquiam Police Department and the Grays Harbor Sherriff’s Office served a search warrant and made two arrests in an ongoing investigation of methamphetamines and heroin distribution. The
search warrant was executed at an apartment complex directly across the street from the McDermoth Elementary School playground in Aberdeen.
 

Family members plan on joining the search for a missing 72-year-old North River man Delbert Pratt who went missing Friday morning 01-07-22 at approximately 5:46 AM in the 700 block of North River Road in Cosmopolis, Washington.  Mr. Pratt   went outside from his residence to move their car to higher ground to avoid the floodwaters which were rising rapidly.  When he did not return, his wife called 911.

Law enforcement was unable to reach the location due to flooding on North River Road.  North River Road was flooded before and after Mr. Pratt’s residence.   

Fire District 15 firefighters who live in the area and family members checked the area and were unable to locate the vehicle or Mr. Pratt.

There is a steep bank next to the driveway, and it is feared that the vehicle somehow left the driveway and was swept away in the swift floodwaters. 

Mr. Pratt is presumed to be deceased.  The Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office responded later in the day with the Pacific County Sheriffs Office  and their drone to search the area.  They were unable to locate the vehicle or Mr. Pratt. 

The Sheriff’s Office will continue to search the area as the water recedes.  

No official press release or information is out yet, however the team here at GHScanner going through our recorded call audio files from our online scanners.  Per radio traffic 2 tribal officers on a boat crossing the floodwaters at SR 12 at Anderson Road When their boat was swept into a guard rail by the current and then the boat was being slammed into debris.  The officers were rescued from the water, Lifeflight was requested for one of the officers, the second officer was transported to Summit Pacific.

The Washington State Patrol says that one person was injured in a 3 vehicle collision on US 101 near milepost 101 north of Hoquiam Tuesday evening December 21st at 7:11pm.  

A white 2014 GMC Acadia driven by a  23-year-old Aberdeen man was traveling northbound on US 101 and slowed to make a uturn.  A second vehicle behind that GMC a 2003 Ford Explorer driven by a 43-year-old Hoquiam man  slowed down for the vehicle making the uturn.  The third involved vehicle, a black 2004 Saturn Ion driven by a 22-year-old Humptulips woman did not slow down and struck the Ford Explorer

The injured party was a passenger of the Ford Explorer, a 44-year-old Hoquiam man, and he was transported to Community Hospital for his injuries.  There had been radio communication initially asking for Airlift or Lifeflight, but neither were able to respond due to weather conditions.  

 

 

An 8-year-old Oakville girl died at the hospital last night after a serious collision on SR 12 near Oakville.  

According to the Washington State Patrol the collision occurred on December 16th, 2021 at 8:37 on State Route 12 and Pearson Road east of Oakville near the Chehalis Indian Reservation.  

A 2002 silver Mazda Protege was traveling westbound on State Route 12 driven by a 31-year-old Oakville woman.  She crossed the center line and struck a semi - hauler hauling scrap vehicles driven by a 55-year-old Selah man.  Both vehicles ended in the eastbound direction with the passenger car upside down in a ditch full of water.  

According to radio traffic over the Grays Harbor Scanner Online Scanners both Lifeflight and Airlift was requested for 2 patients.  Lifeflight declined due to weather, Airlift had one available but could not take off due to mechanical from Bremerton.  The 8-year-old passenger in the passenger car was initially taken to Chehalis Providence, later transferred to Mary Bridge in Tacoma where she later died.  

The Selah man was transported to St Peters Olympia for his injuries with the 31-year-old Oakville woman driver taken to Harborview Seattle.  

The 31-year-old Oakville woman has charges pending for DUI and driving over the center line.
