The Hoquiam Police Department has confirmed that they responded to an armed robbery that took place at the Lincoln St 7-Eleven early this morning.
According to a social media only post HPD says At 3:24 AM, officers were dispatched to the 7-Eleven, located at 211 Lincoln Street, regarding a possible robbery in progress. Officers arrived within and quickly confirmed a masked male subject entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded cash. The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen eastbound on Eklund Avenue on foot.Advertisement
According to radio traffic, the description of the suspect was a dark-skinned male with curly hair wearing a camo face mask, Carhartt work pants and yellow coat and was armed with a firearm. Hoquiam officers along with Aberdeen officers responded and confirmed that an actual robbery did occur (of the store). The calling party was an employee of the store.
According to radio traffic, an officer stated that video shows the male suspect fled, went towards the 900 block of Eklund the same direction he came from. Officers put up a drone to start the search, and requested county k9 officer for track. K9 search was terminated with suspect not located 447 Am.
HPD Detectives are currently on the scene investigating. Anyone who was in the area, particularly around Eklund Avenue/Monroe Street, who saw anything suspicious during this time frame is asked to call the non-emergency dispatch center, 360-533-8765.
