The Coast Guard rescued two hikers from the side of a cliff early Sunday near Hoh Head which is between Queets and Lapush north of Grays Harbor County in the Olympic National Park.
Rescued were Tessa Allen and Reed Farber, both in their 20s.
Olympic National Park Rangers contacted Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound watchstanders at about midnight Sunday requesting air rescue assistance for two people stranded about 60 feet high on a cliff’s ledge after climbing to retreat from rising tides.
A 19 year-old Aberdeen resident is in custody at the Aberdeen Police Jail this morning for Assault 1st Degree from an incident that occurred in the afternoon of April 29, 2021. Aberdeen officers were dispatched to a report of a fight with a subject displaying a gun in the 200 block of North Boone Street. While in route, officers received several additional reports of the incident. A short time later a victim was reporting they were shot with an air soft replica gun.
As officers arrived, the suspect had fled in a vehicle with several other suspects. Officers were able to identify a location the suspect had gone too and he was located in front of that residence. The suspected was detained and the investigation continued. Officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle in the Miller Jr High parking lot and an air soft gun was recovered. The gun was a highly realistic looking revolver.
Additional victims came forward reporting the suspect had pointed the weapon at them as well. The suspect was booked for assault 1st degree into the city of Aberdeen Jail. An additional passenger in the suspect vehicle was also arrested on unrelated charges. Most criminals are not very bright, and this one is no different. A suspect is in custody after stealing a vehicle from the Safeway parking lot that he couldn't drive because it was a stick shift.
On April 17, 2021, around 1:32 AM, an Aberdeen Police Officer observed a red sport utility vehicle (SUV) north on Scott Street approaching the south end of the Chehalis River Bridge. The SUV suddenly veered east and onto the sidewalk on the east side of the roadway at the dike, striking the concrete barricade. The SUV continued northbound back on the roadway and again struck the east side of the bridge moments later, coming to rest.
